Older Carers

We offer dedicated home and community based support for older carers. Our services are designed to help you improve your health and wellbeing and be more socially active.  We can also help you to access key services like social care or respite and check that you are receiving any welfare benefit entitlements.  If you are disabled, frail, isolated or simply find it difficult to get out we can visit you at home to discuss your support needs and offer you the following services:

Home Complementary Therapies

Relax and unwind with up to an hour of Massage or Reflexology provided by our qualified holistic therapists.

Volunteer Befriending

There is no need to feel isolated if you find it difficult to get out. One of our trained and vetted volunteers can visit you at home, for a chat or to help you with light practical tasks around the home.  We will visit you with one of our befrienders to introduce you and make sure we have matched you with someone suitable.

Active Older Carers

Improve your fitness and mobility, learn new skills, relax and have fun by joining one of our regular activities, including Tai Chi, Chair Based Exercise, Zumba and Yoga. Our activities are delivered by experienced tutors and are a great way to make new friends and take active steps to improve your overall wellbeing.  Our classes are for all levels of fitness.

Coffee Mornings

We meet once a month in the York Room, Ilford Central Library for tea/coffee and a chat.  We often invite speakers along to keep you up to date with services and what’s going on locally.  Our coffee morning group are a friendly and lively bunch and always welcome new carers.  Join us and make new friends.

Home Visits

If you are home bound we can visit you, to provide advice and information and help you to access support including Adult Social Care and welfare benefits.  We can also give you a voice and help you to get involved in consultations about your communities. We are listening and want to pass on your feedback to local policy and decision makers.
